HERITAGE OPEN DAY

Forgotten Force is an oral history project by the Piłsudski Institute of London giving first-hand evidence of the past by audio and video recording stories of Polish women survivors of the World War II residing in the UK. To help bring these stories to life a London based artist Zofia Wyszomirska-Noga interpreted the assembled tales and translated them to image.

On 11/09 we will release a documentary by Magdalena Paczocha that accompanies the Forgotten Force. It will be posted on www.facebook.com/PolishForgottenForce and artandmemory.uk

We would like to invite you to send war-time stories of your grandmothers and great-grandmothers of any nationality and ethnicity so that we can remember women’s voices from the past. All submitted stories will be published at Art and Memory website during the HODs week.
On Saturday the 19th at 3 PM we are hosting an online discussion panel. The artist, videographer and curator will talk about the project and discuss submitted stories. They will be joined by an independent researcher and interdisciplinary artist Michael Daniel Sagatis - author of a multimedia project ‘Jozefa’s Letters’ about his great-grandmother.
